If you get my newsletters (which you should), then you've probably already read this, but if not, I've got some news for you! Alaina and I are close to launching our non-fiction writing careers! I've teased for quite some time, that I was preparing to dip my toe into the non-fiction waters. As much as I love writing (and reading fiction), I know that a part of my calling is to write non-fiction. Over the past two years, I've been working on the first endeavor in that vein.
The working title, which is subject to change, is Slaying the Giant of Unforgiveness. As the title suggests, the book's purpose is to explore the subject of unforgiveness, the lies that accompany it, and the damage it causes, and most importantly how to find freedom from it.
Researching and writing this book has been a lot different from everything else I've ever written, but it's been an incredibly rewarding process. First off, this is the first book that I've written with my amazing wife, Alaina. Working together on a book project for the first time has been a learning experience. Additionally, the amount of researching and the collecting and reading of relevant testimonies has been significant! That being said, as of the writing of this email, I've nearly completed the first draft!
I don't have any release timelines yet, there's still a lot of work to do, but we are hoping to see a release in the second half of 2026. It's exciting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on this project. As exciting as a new book is, one thing we realized is that just launching this book alone wouldn't be enough. Especially with a book that deals with sensive and heavy subjects like this one. Alaina and I felt very strongly that it was very important to create a private community for those who have or are planning to read the Slaying the Giant books (yes, God willing, there will be others). So, since we are getting close, we went ahead and started our very own private facebook group called for this purpose. The goal is to provide a safe place for people to come together to: discuss the books, seek prayer, encourage one another, and to share testimonies! If books that help strengthen your faith and help you navigate life's hardships and hurts, and building community alongside it interests you, please join us!
